Ginger is a perennial plant grown in tropical Asia and cultivated in other tropical areas, especially Jamaica. The part that is used is the aromatic knotty root stick, which is thick, fibrous and cream or buff-colored.
Ginger Root has proved to be far more effective at controlling motion-induced nausea (motion sickness) than either a drug or placebo in recent University studies. It was discovered that Ginger Root had no sedative effects on the central nervous system, unlike pharmaceutical drugs. It helps absorb toxins, restore gastric activities to normal, and helps control diarrhea and vomiting that often accompanies gastrointestinal flu.
Ginger Root will give a tranquilizing effect to the brain which will relax the effect of motion sickness. Ginger Root is used by scuba divers & pilots alike which they sometimes feel the effect of motion sickness. For anyone driving long distances and feeling nauseous, Ginger Root has made travelling easier. When used with Cayenne, it will also cool the effects of Cayenne Pepper.
Sangster's Ginger Root is free of any sedating or addictive side effects. Quite to the contrary, it has a general stimulating effect on the body, on the heart and skeletal muscles. It also has a stimulating effect on the adrenal gland medulla to secrete catecholamines, and an aphrodisiac effect leading to increased sperm count and motility. Furthermore, it has been suggested that Ginger Root may play a therapeutic role in the treatment of drug addiction.
There are anti-anxiety receptors (benzodiaepine receptors) in the brain, and a substance called thromboxane occupies or blocks the receptors. When Ginger Root is introduced it takes over and causes the receptors in the brain to be freely stimulated,
thus causing a tranquilizing effect.
